The Current State of Existence

Our current existence is caught between two worlds - the inner and the outer. The outer world - which we created,- is a world of hatred, misery, greed, envy, brutality - a violent world and the resulting society in which we live. A world where every nation is building their arsenal of arms by either manufacturing or simply buying - where the big ones sell while the poor nations buy - we formed this world - and our ways - our thinking is only to be held responsible for this - you and me.

And the inner world or the self is now getting shaped by the same outer world we developed - responding to it , reacting to it every moment , every second . We want our kids to be great human being - appreciating nature, loving people helping the needy - but no the outer world does not permits us to do so - we are forced them to push in the same technological race - the same race for being a superior human being instead of a good human being ! All our desires, our aspirations our ambitions are being constantly shaped by this outer world - how we dress, what we speak, what we do everything. And both this worlds are related and constantly flows from one to the other.

What pains me is that I see the seed of violence everywhere - from the competitions at school, to the games , to the toy shop just round the corner, to the video games, in the news update - there is not a single day when someone is not dead due to the act of some violence! A really amazing world we have built and where we stay !

We can easily see the flow the from outer to the inner and from the inner to the outer shaping each other and ‘ourselves’ caught in between as if in a perpetual state of misery and conflict. And then there are some people who assures us peace, tranquility, happiness etc. - the so called religious gurus, the psychologists, the Philosophers, the Zen, the Vastu, the Yin and yang and so on and so forth. But one thing we forget that like all religion and philosophy or any school is just another creation of the same thought process and these gurus are individuals very similar to us in a confused state of mind with ideas limited by thought and the preceding knowledge. Knowledge is incomplete (we all agree) and based on yesterday - which can never provide answers in the form of scriptures, rules, guidance or laws. The moment you start following it you get restricted , limited , bound and freedom of mind can never be attained.

To be totally free from the influence of the outer world one does not need to go to a guru or subscribe to any school of thought. What is required is a deep understanding of ones own self - analyse all actions and thoughts. If we observe with attention and understand truthfully on what and why we are doing something it becomes easy for us to remain above the flow and not get affected by the outer world… All we need to do is put and end to thought and reference - when we observe our own actions. Observe everything with a blank mind to understand the reason behind it. Unless we do that - our response to hate will be hate and for violence will be violence. And nobody except we ourselves can help us in reaching that state of mind which is not caught in the flow of outer and inner world. Meditation is a process and way - but not in the sense we know it - meditation does not require you to switch off lights, concentrate on something or even chant something. Meditation is shutting off thought completely from any form of interference. But we discuss it later.

The outer world or the society we live in has been shaped by us and which is also shaping our inner world - have changed the concept of happiness, the concept of love, the concept of feeling for fellow beings. Big Bold words in the press or in the billboard or the internet drives it. And all these leaves us in a state of utter conflict and race - we are here we want to go there - the constant race - maybe just to remain in the same position in the same status with the same attachments - same girl friend, same beer, same leadership, same power, same wealth, same health.

So in effect thought it seems that we are progressing , constantly moving - actually life has become a treadmill - where we run to stay in the same position year after year doing the same old thing. The technological race which produces newer and better arms, viruses, socio-economic divisions, and pollution can only drive us towards destruction.

Change is possible but the big question would be if only you and me change does it matter - will it have an effect - the answer is yes - as both you and me are integral part of the same mankind - even for a large body of water - the formation of ice starts with only a few molecules and if the change is beneficial or necessary than the whole body will change.

Even a few responsible minds if they decide against the current flow they can develop a fork or an alternate way to being a better human being - and that should happen without any law, rules, bindings or memory or reference to our savage past.

Any attempt to be free from influence from the outerworld is itself a reaction to being influenced from the outer world. It still influences you. We are shaped and molded by our environment. Not only are we victims of our environment but we are also contributors to it. In essence, your decision to go against the flow was determined by the flow.

Its not being free - its like observing it without being influenced by it :)

Namaste’ as a young child I became aware, of awareness of all things *me* knowing who I was, my very clear memories of this awareness go back to before 2 years of age even, that expanded out to becoming aware of all energy that surrounded me, at first just the emotions and feelings I was able to *hear/sense* within others mind chatter, and emotions, every day becoming more and more open to all things that are possible, shutting NOTHING out, the older I got though the more I *allowed*myself to become affected in some way or another and had to then adjust so I would not fall into the booby traps laid out in society.

But at least I had the awareness to know this is what was happening, while it was happening. :0) I had to stop using the school bus to get to school (opting to trek many blocks instead even in our cdn cold winters) cause I could *feel* the various emotions from all the others speaking so loudly (even when there was no sound to the physical ears) my head felt like it would explode. I was and still am a simple person, and believe mysteries in life sometimes should remain as such. I wanted to understand EVEYTHING there was, to understand all people, and like you am fascinated with the human mind, however know better how to channel all the energy that comes into my own world on a daily basis now, so it does not become chaos fo me within. Meditation for ME helps with this.

I also wanted to comment on the statement about humbleness, that was very interesting. That which we do, without thought, cause we know it is simply the right thing to do. The act is not analyzed, there is no expectation of gain, for even if it is gaining what we think will make us more humble, or *better* people, this is still an expectation of sorts. Even good/best of intent can turn to ego and inflation of such. If we live with pure intent there should also be an awareness that the ego is a master of many disguises, and is always looking for an opportunity to jump us without warning. (Dang ego! ;0) but humans would not have been born with these abilities if they could not also be used constructively instead of destructively.

Thank you fo the honor of you thoughts I am subscribing. Please visit me if you get a bit of time. Metta.

    Sparrow,
This is truly an amazing Blog,
not only what you write but the response of those who read your words.
I remember the words from a book that I read many many years ago, “Not an old man’s dream but the dream of a young man now grown old.”

The dream is that humanity will come to ‘understand’ and to live the life that is possible.

Continue thinking and continue writing. The world needs to hear you.

I hope that I will be around to see the possibilities manifested.
